Gilberto Dimenstein, proprietário do Armazém da Cidade, que promove eventos do Ruas Abertas, não participou da audiência publica de domingo (07.05) na Prefeitura Regional, sobre o fechamento da Rua Medeiros de Albuquerque.

Segundo explicou ao blogue ‘A Voz da Vila’, preferiu que outras pessoas pudessem ter visibilidade, porque o projeto é de um grupo, e não apenas seu.

Dimenstein continua defendendo o Ruas Abertas na Medeiros pois, como disse, aquela via “foi escolhida depois de várias audiências públicas”. Fez questão de esclarecer, porém, que o Armazém da Cidade é desvinculado do fechamento da rua:

“Uma coisa é o projeto, e outra o Armazém da Cidade, que funciona com ou sem a rua fechada. Aos sábados, consegue atrair ainda mais gente do que no domingo e, por isso, já estamos expandindo para sexta-feira”, disse ele.

 “Sem os custos da Rua Aberta – prosseguiu – haveria até possibilidade de oferecer mais eventos dentro do Armazém; todos os custos são bancados por nós”.

Ressaltou ainda que a casa tem alvará para eventos, monitora os decibéis (“até pedimos ajuda para a Prefeitura”) e sua tendência é reforçar projetos culturais educativos.

“Estamos elaborando um projeto de sustentabilidade para que se ofereça cada vez mais eventos culturais gratuitos”, finalizou.
